This year’s flying season has been a very strange one. From not having our first Fun Fly until June, having to cancel our picnic due to the heat, and having three club meetings at the flying field. As busy as the rest of August and September are , I hope the remainder of the season goes well.
August 20 was the new date for the club picnic, and once again mother nature did not cooperate. The small group of people that got there early to set up, spent two hours under five tents trying to stay dry. As the rain continued, a few more people came. When the rain let up, Ray Donati went and got the food allowing us all to eat. Finally the rain stopped , the sun came out, and we all were able to get in a couple flights .
Hopefully, next year mother nature will cooperate. A big thanks to Ray for all the hard work he put into running this years picnic.
Sunday, August 28 is CRCM’s Big Bird Fly In. If you’ve never attended this event in the past. Come on out to see planes with wing spans over 80 inches.
September 2nd is the date for the next club meeting, which is back at Schaumburg Airport. September 11th is CRCM’s Scale Fly In. This event shows off some beautiful scale airplanes. September 18th is our last Fun Fly.
September 24th is going to be a Trainer Day. This event is to get anyone interested in flying RC airplanes out to the field to try their hand at flying.
September 25th is the clubs annual golf outing.
With all the club events except the fun fly on the 18th, these events are open to the public to attend. So bring a friend or your family for a nice day at the field.
Till next month, see you at the field
