Opening:

The regular meeting of the Chicagoland Radio Control Modelers was called to order at 7:36 P.M on April 2, 2010 in Schaumburg Airport lower level Meeting Room by Ed Bywalec filling in for Greg Ross.

Approval of Minutes The minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted without corrections.

Treasurers Report Treasurers Report read and accepted.

Announcements made.

Ed Bywalec running meeting at request of Greg Ross and asked if any objections, no objections. T – Shirts and Hats are available M – XL $15, 2X & 3X $18 Hats $15

Bylaws are available at any club meeting and are on table in front.

Beginning in May newsletter will be only email or on the website and face book. Newsletter to be published the week before the general meeting.

Andy Petlak will mail out hard copy to members without email.

Old Business

Dave Rosenblatt updated the club on forest preserve meeting. The Forest Preserve to replace wood fence and will get back to us later on other concerns.

Instructors are selected there will be 12 flight instructors and 3 pre flight instructors. Flight instructors will have new AMA cards sent to them showing as an instructor, the cost is $5 for each instructor cost to be paid by club.

Pre Flight is Greg Ross, Dick Hamilton, Steve Sobolewski.

Instructors are – Frank Ponzo, Bob Carroll, Al Brose, Ron Kostus, Jim Thompson, Carl Barshop, Dave Rosenblatt, Steven Rosenblatt, Ed Bywalec, Dave Golubski, Andy Petlak, Ray Tinley.

New Business

Ray Donati repaired the flight line fencing.

Al Brose to put out weed and feed to get rid of dandelions. Club to pay for weed and feed.

The field was discussed as to patches where no sealer exists. It was decided to wait until we hear from the forest preserve first.

Flight Instructor Badges are being checked into for pricing and service. Different options were discussed.

The picnic date was discussed and a motion to move from Sunday July 18th to Saturday July 17th. Motion seconded and voted on. Motion passed unanimous.

Picnic discussed – Greg Ross, Carl Barshop, Andy Petlak to bring bean bag games. Greg Palace tentatively to bring volleyball net. Food discussed possibly subway. An airplane event was discussed no final resolution.

Permits will be had for Electric, Scale, Big Bird and the Picnic. Canopy and food will be on permit.

Committee Reports

Fun Fly – Stop watches needed. Andy Petlak explained fun fly. Food will be available, brats with mustard, ketchup and relish. Bring your own onions. The fun fly will be pylon.

Andy Petlak asked if any club members have any trophy’s not wanted or to be thrown away to give them to him so they can be recycled. Andy will pick up and have new name plates made but this will save cost.

Big Bird – on newsletter in front under directors lists IMAA needs changed to Big Bird. – IMAA rules as far as size 80” monoplane and 60” biplane. Ray Donati is event director and Dana Berry is CD. Dana now has his CD certification. Dana promised the day would be sunny and warm. Time is 9:00 A.M. Dana has tubs in his basement with equipment from Pat Murray shed, poles, flags etc.

Scale Fly in – You must fly 5 minutes at minimum. Contest will be pilot judged. Trophy and food possibly prizes nothing firm yet. Different categories. No sanction with AMA.

Golf – no updates at this time.

Electric – Carl asked to get reservations in so food can be ordered. Please let Carl know quickly.

Tips and Tricks

Al Brose suggested using rubber bands and silicone tube to keep tube fromWD 40 can clean and secure.
