CRCM Meeting Report for May 4, 2012
Meeting open at 7:30 p.m.
Attendance: 25 members plus 2 guests
Minutes of April meeting: Read by Greg Ross and accepted
ANNOUCEMENTS: Dave Rosenblatt is home recovering from cancer surgery. He also married his long time girlfriend, Rene. A get well card signed by members present was sent to his home.
COMMITTEE REPORTS;
Trainer day Ray Donati has the club trainer ready to go and asked for instructors and helpers to be present on Saturday
June 10 at the field to assist with flying lesson. Greg Ross asked members to distribute flyers. FUN FLY: Brian Nowak explained the events that will be used in funfly 1 on Sunday June 3.
ELECTRIC FLYIN: Jim Thompson and Carl Barshop will be running the event on Sunday June 24 starting at 3:00 p.m. Get your entry fee in to Jim as soon as possible.
SCALE FLY IN: Fred Cederholm working on flyers and donation of prizes for the event.
ELECTRIC NIGHTFLY: Marcilleno Bobaceno has been in contact with the Bensenville Park Dist. regarding the use of a soccer field in Redman Park on York Rd. between Irving and Grand for for an Electric NightFly possibly in June sometime between 6:00 & 10.00 p.m. He will have additional information forthcoming.
NEWSLETTER: Greg Ross asked that members send Steve Sobolewski pictures and information that he could put in the newsletter.
FIELD REPAIR DAY: Saturday, May 19, 9:00 a.m.
TIPS & TRICKS: Dana Berry Use short pieces of small dowel to strengthen joint between fire wall and fuselage sides. Terry D’Anca Replace back half of stock muffler with a mousse can JB welded in place to increase engine P.P.M. Ray Donati Encouraged everyone to keep sending EMails to the Forest Preserve about improvements at our field.
ENTERTAINMENT; Herb Rizzo, one of the new owners of Sig and Berry Schiller brought a beautiful fuselage of Rascale 110 to show and gave a very interesting talk on Sig and modeling in general. Herb gave the club three 25% Off certificates for Sig products to be raffled off at a future meeting. He invited all to comeout to Sig for their flyin on June 9 and 10.
