April Meeting Minutes

Club Meeting Report for April 5th, 2024

Meeting opened 7:30 pm – Kevin Peterson Presiding

Attendance: (10) members & (1) guests

Announcements:

1.  Club dues – $35.

2.  AMA/FAA Licenses.

3.  Bowling Night will be April 11, 6:30 pm at River Rand Bowl in Des Plaines. All are welcome to come whether bowling or not. 

4.  Gun Range Day will be April 14th, 7:00 am to 8:30 am at Article II Range in Lombard. 

5.  Field Maintenance Day will be April 14th, 9:00 am.

6.  Harper College Trainer Day will be April 20th, 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Extra volunteers for flight instruction would be of great help. Club will receive a $250 stipend from Harper College. 

7.  Fun Fly #1 will be May 5th, 9:00 am to Noon. Volunteers to run the Fun Fly’s are needed.

8.  Thoughts and Prayers for Dana Berry’s wife with health issues.

Treasurer’s Report (Kevin Peterson, Treasurer)

1. Treasurer’s report read by Kevin Peterson and accepted.

• Total – $6,922.79.

Guests:  The members welcomed Brian Jacobi to the Club. Brian has been interested in becoming a pilot for a very long time and is ready to dive in. 

Committee Reports:

1. Jim Collins noted the Club picnic food menu will be greatly scaled back to save money.

Unfinished Business: NONE.

New Business: 

1. There was much discussion regarding whether or not the Club will host a Swap-n-Shop this year due to dwindling buyers. Much effort is expended to put on the Swap-n-Shop with very little benefit to the Club. Discussion was tabled for further discourse at later meetings. 

2. Patrick Darby made a new Club flyer mailbox for the field. Patrick has also made new Club flyers and materials for new members. Thank  you very much Patrick for stepping up in this role of membership organizer!

Brian D.: Displayed his Arrow airplane made of plastic that Brian restored. Great job Brian!
