CRCM Membership Meeting – 8-7-2026

I. Open Meeting – 7:30 pm @ Pilot Pete’s, Schaumburg, IL

  1. Call to order – President Marcellino Bomicino
  2. Announcements
    1.  Fun Fly #4 Successful, Results posted on website. Thanks to Pat/Ken for organizing.
    2. Night Fly’s: 7/25 was cancelled; 8/29 is still pending.
    3. August 9th – Fun Fly #5 Pylon Racing – Pat/Ken
    4. August 16th – Big Bird / Club Picnic – Buono Beef and Salad; Survey Monkey for those attending will be sent shortly.
    5. Forest Preserve Update (See under New Business)
    6. Raffle 30CC DLE Gas Engine (Mike Celli donation) – Jim C.
    7. Brian D. mentioned Pistons and Props airshow in Janesville, Wi. Aug. 29th. Information will be posted on website.

III. Treasurer’s Report – Kevin Peterson, Treasurer

  1. Total: $8,413.73 (Harper College $200 donation not included)

VI. Unfinished Business – None.

VII. New Business – Brian D. – The Forest Preserve has examined the field and determined that patching is in order. The Forest Preserve will do a test patch and determine if the patching will suffice.  Brian D. will keep the Club posted on further developments with the Forest Preserve.

VIII. Entertainment – None.

IX. Tips & Tricks:

  1. Dana B.:  Use Lipo’s at Storage Level charge for starters. No need then to put batteries in storage mode after use.
  2. Al Brose: Use LED Strobe and Oil to created “light show” off airplane for night flies.
  3.  Marcellino B.: Be careful not to touch leads together when removing from charging board; remove balance charger lead first.
  4.  Brian T.: Use Doculam instead of Monokote – 250 foot roll $30 on ebay; durable and paintable.

X. Model of the Month: Tyler: Showed Carl Goldberg Ultimate Bluehawk built by Grandfather; Wants to convert to electric. 

Brian D.: Parachute guy which can be dropped from Brian’s Piper Cub.

XI. Raffle (Jim Collins, Vice President): White Ticket ($60) – John;  Auction DLE 30CC – Brian T. bid $100 as winner.

XII. Reminder – Reservations for Restaurant Dinner after meeting – All.
