Chicago Land Radio Control Modelers Meeting Minutes
February 4, 2011
Opening:
The regular meeting of the Chicagoland Radio Control Modelers was called to order at 7:30 P.M on February 4, 2011 in Schaumburg Airport lower level Meeting Room . 18 Members present.
Present: Greg Ross President, Brian Nowak – Vice President, Bob Roggeveen – Treasurer, Steven Sobolewski, filling in for Brian DeFillipo Secretary
Approval of Minutes: The minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted
Treasurers Report : Treasurers Report read and accepted .
Announcements made.
The position of Chief Flight Instructor needs to be filled. If you would like to fill this position let Greg Ross know.
Old Business
Name Badges – A vendor selected and badges will be ordered. A qty of 25 will be ordered. Any person who did not get a badge or lost theirs should let Brian DeFillipo or Bob Roggeveen know.
Forest Preserve – Bob Roggeveen is still proceeding with the Forest Preserve and is trying to work thru getting help to remedy physical property issues at the field.
New Business
Committee reports –
Winter Fun Fly is March 6th, 2011.
Banquet – George Schubkegel, Joe Schubkegel – Thanked Bob Roggeveen for his running the past few Banquets. Several different options were discussed. A final option with a cost of $40 – 50 dollars per person was selected. Banquet to be in October.
Fun Fly – Steve Sobolewski discussed and presented fun fly dates and events for the entire year. This will be emailed to all within the next few days. Any plane can be used or different plane for either round.
Picnic – We will have a picnic free to all members and 1 guest. All additional will have a fee charged. The response was overwhelming all in favor.
Sign – Steve Sobolewski brought in a printed 24 x 36 sign showing field rules and layout. Modifications to Font size and color and a better picture needed for layout. A new aerial picture will be investigated. Sign will be mounted in place of frequency board and frequency board will be mounted on south side of impound. PDF of sign will be emailed to all club members.
Entertainment
Ray Tinley brought in his old radios – escapements – This display and his presentation was amazing. Ray explained the use of different pulses for flying.
Tips and Tricks
Dan Knippen put on a very nice display on mounting robart hinges and tricks to get tight.
Model of The Month
Al Brose with A Great Planes Cherokee , a scale 60” WS 46” length 5 ½#, OS .46 engine. Futaba 7FM radio. Flaps are integrated.
